United vs Peshawar Zalmi 2

The second match between Islamabad United and Peshawar Zalmi was expected to be an exciting one for many reasons, chief among which was the return of ISLU captain Misbah ul Haq from a calf injury. Islamabad United were put into bat first and went on the offence immediately. Sharjeel Khan started to find his stride after hitting a couple of massive sixes down the leg-side. After getting a solid start by the openers, it was up to Misbah ul Haq and Khalid Latif to provide the momentum to the batting. Both the batsmen got set at the crease and then hit the bowlers around the park for huge sixes. The standout player was Khalid Latif who scored a brilliant 50 and was helped by Misbah ul Haq who chipped in with 32 runs. A score of 170 was looking on the cards, however some brilliant bowling by the Peshawar Zalmi bowling attack restricted Islamabad United to 152 in 20 overs.

In the end, the target was not enough to grant ISLU the victory with the Zalmi batsmen easily chasing the score.
